… what is that one thing that’s been on your ‘to-do list’ for weeks (or even months) that you know you should do but that you manage to keep putting it off? Even if you don’t keep a written ‘to-do’ list, I bet there’s something that’s been something on your ‘mental to-do list’ that is costing you dear. .. Once you’ve worked out what that ‘thing’ is, then work out about how much time you spend thinking about that ‘thing’ every day… and imagine what it would be like if could just get this ‘thing’ was done….
Mark Twain once said
“if the first thing you do each morning is to eat a live frog, you can go through the day with the satisfaction of knowing that that is probably the worse things that is going to happen to you all day long”
and it is Brian Tracy, a leading expert on the development of human potential and personal effectiveness, who made this quote famous & coined the phrase ‘Eat that Frog.
Brian says that your ‘frog’ is that thing you’ve been putting off, it’s usually the biggest, most important task you’ve got to do and the one you are most likely to procrastinate on if you don’t get on and do it… Brian says that you should eat a frog every day and has two simple rules…
THE FIRST RULE OF FROG EATING: If you have to eat two frogs, eat the ugliest one first.
THE SECOND RULE OF FROG EATING: If you have to eat a live frog at all, it doesn’t pay to sit and look at it for very long.
.. and think about all that energy you’ll get back from not thinking about “not doing it”!
Start now… what’s your frog for today (or tomorrow if it’s past sunset today!) …write it down & just do it!
Getting into a frog eating habit will save you hours of procrastination give you back more time and energy than you ever realised you were wasting.
I better get eating frogs, I have a whole lot lining up, chomping at my heels. x
